    3. As some of you noted in your "roll call" messages, I too was glad to see proof on the list of the numbers of people researching families in Williamson County! Just for everyone's info, there are currently more than 250 people across the country (including a few "internationals") subscribed to this list. People always have very different ideas about electronic mailing lists. Some people like to see lots and lots of messages; some people get mad if there are "too many" messages; some people only want to read messages that contain "information" (names, dates, places, etc); and so on. Several people who posted "roll call" messages said that they thought our list was "dead," or that they wished the list had more activity. My question for all of you is, what would you like to see on this list? Do you wish we had more messages posted? If so, what would you like to see? Would you prefer not to have a lot of messages posted? Why not? Is anyone interested in becoming an active "moderator" for the list? What do you think of my ideas below? 1) I have thought about trying to start a discussion every week, or every other week, etc. I could toss out an idea, and anyone interested could respond (for example, "Who is researching family lines--whole families, not just individuals--in Carterville? Who are they, and what are your stumbling blocks?"). 2) We could work with the county historical society to post some information on a week-by-week or month-by-month basis to the whole list. Please email me DIRECTLY ([email protected]) with your ideas and feedback. PLEASE do not reply to the whole list at this point - I will read your messages for a couple of days, and then post a synopsis of everyone's suggestions to the list. Thank you so much for all ideas and suggestions-- Angela Place
