Hi list, Hoping someone can help me. I descend from a family that came from GA to Union/Williamson Cos. in IL in 1840's. Most of these family members are listed as "mulatto" in 1850. My branch later moved to MO in the 1870's and passed as white. Names I am researching are BRYANT, SCOTT, and TURNER. I am hoping that there are members of these families who remained in Williamson and Union Cos. (descendants of the original bunch) who might be able to help figure out our ancestry. I believe that those that remained probably stayed in the black community. I am looking for descendants of Andrew and Susannah BRYANT SCOTT, living in Williamson Co., IL, in 1850, 1860 and 1870. They had children Nancy, Wiley, James Eliza, Sarah, and Missouri A. Also looking for descendants of Theophilus and Mary Ann BRYANT TURNER and descendants of Hannah BRYANT, listed in 1860 in Williamson Co., IL, with children Martin Van Buren, Silas, Amanda J., William M., Jno. A., Frances, and Susan. A Frederick CHAVERS, b. @ 1786 in GA, is also in her household. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Doug Powers
