I'm looking for ancestors and siblings for my gg grandfather Alexander KELLY (KELLEY) who was born in Scioto Co., OH, b. 29 Dec 1821. He moved to Illinois some time before 28 May 1847 (as this is the date he enrolled in the Illinois foot Volunteers for the Mexican War). I have no real proof of who his father is. One report is that his father's name was John KELLY, b. England or Scotland 1789 (approx.) And that his siblings were George, Arlene and William. In the 1880 Texas Co MO census Alexander lists his father being from Penn (or Tenn - writing is light) and mother from CT. One rumor is the mother died in a flood. Two siblings, George and Arlene went west with relatives and were later found living in Arkansas. Alexander and William went to Illinois. Alexander married Mary Jeanette "Polly) HINCHCLIFF 9 Aug 1849. Moved to Texas Co., MO around 1870 and died 19 July 1885. Children were John J., William, Allen W., Alfred, Alexander Robert, and Sarah Alice. Would be glad to share information. Katherine Barber Springfield, MO
