Searching for info re: the above coal mine where my great grandfather worked, retired in the 1930's. Does anyone know if any part of it is still operating or where it was located? I'm just curious, any info would be appreciated. I read the book "Southern Illinois Coal" and am fascinated by the dangerous way these men made a living.
