Most of my more recent ancestors from the Williamson/Jackson County area were living in and around the Grassy Township vicinity. Some spread out to Herrin/Carterville and others to Marion. There is a lot of confusion surrounding parts of my NOLEN and COX lines. Here are the names I search for: NOLEN, COX, KEITH, CRAVEN(S), FORD, RUST SMITH (the last three are probably not really my ancestors, but these are the names of the family involved in raising my Grandmother. Also included with these names should be GREATHOUSE, CRAIN, SPLLER and BENSON, etc.), WOOD(S), STOVER, TALLY, TURNAGE, STEPHENS, DONAHOO, TARPLEY, DAVIS, ROACH, STROUD, BRANDON, GRANT and HAWKINS. MILLER, KRANTZ, ROBINSON, DONOHO, JENKINS, CLAYTON and BROOKS. I've hit so many brick walls over the years that I sometimes loose interest.
