I'm trying to track my great-great grandparents Terence Thompson and don't know wife's name. My grandfather was Benjamin Thompson, born 1/11/1889 in Marion, IL. Died 1/28/54, buried at Pleasant Grove, IL. My great-grandfather was Solomon D. Thompson, born 10/23/1841, possibly in Rome, TN; died May, 1921 and buried at Pleasant Grove, IL. My great-great-grandparents were Terence Thompson, who were Irish immigrants that evidently came to Illinois with a land grant. I've reached a dead end on this. The last names of Burnett & Ferrell are from my grandmother's side of the family. All families, I believe came from Crab Orchard in Williamson County. I live in Idaho, so not possible to visit Illinois. Any help would be greatly appreciated Place, Angela R wrote: >Hello everyone. Please remember to type a very specific subject line (X family, Z time period, etc) on your messages to the list. There are currently 309 people subscribed to the list, and of course we are not going to make everyone happy all the time. But please try to be as courteous to everyone subscribed as possible. If you are responding to a message on the list with info relevant only to the original poster, PLEASE REPLY ONLY TO THE ORIGINAL POSTER. This goes ESPECIALLY for messages like "nope he's not in my line" and "good to hear from you," etc. When the list gets exceptionally busy, like it is right now, we have lots of people drop (which is NOT A GOOD THING, those people may be your fifth cousins and no one has made the connection yet) because they get tired of wading through all the personal replies that go out to the whole list. Plus, I get nasty notes from all the irritated ones. :> > >3. Rootsweb has been updating the lists and switching some things around, and a fair number of folks are having trouble posting to the list, etc. If you have problems and have already emailed me, please give me a day or so, and I promise I will get back to you (I have about 22 people to check on so far). If you have not emailed me about problems but are having them, please let me know. > >FINALLY, since we have probably already irritated all those likely to be irritated by lots of messages, I would like to do an official "ROLL CALL" of the list. We used to do one twice a year, and since I started having my kids, that seems to have gone by the wayside (my fault, definitely, and by the way we are adding yet another little branch to our family tree in 2007). :> Everyone who hasn't already, please send a message to the list, telling us which families you're researching, and in which locations. PLEASE BE AS SPECIFIC AS POSSIBLE. > >I am looking for: > >RUSHING - I have started an ambitious project to figure out how the heck each and every Rushing in Williamson Co in the 1800s is related to each other. This takes me back into TN for one group and KY for another. But if you have Rushings in the 1800s, I'd love to know what you know. > >CAGLE - I descend from Charles Cagle & Polly Demontbrun Cagle, who came here from Nashville, TN in the 1830s with LOTS of children. I have lots of info to share. > >CHAMNESS - I descend from Jonathan P. Chamness's daughter Martisha, born about 1842, who married Allen Cagle. Again, I have a fair amount of info to share. > >THOMPSON - Any info about the family of Richard/Richmond M. Thompson & his wife Sarah Hendricks Thompson, who came to Herrin from Logan Co, KY in the 1890s. > >Hope to hear from you all soon - > >Angela >Williamson Co, ILGenWeb >http://www.people.ku.edu/~place/williamson.html > > >------------------------------- >To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to ILWILLIA-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message > >. > > > ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to ILWILLIA-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message .
