    3. It's been fun reading the posts about relatives in Williamson County. My father, Ned Walker, was born in Carterville and his father, Ira Walker was born near Marion. He left the area because he knew that he didn't want to farm or mine coal. He still has one brother left down in Ziegler. We also have Spillers in our family - my great grandfather, J.B. Walker's first wife was a Spiller. Other family names includes: Herrin/g, McAlpin, Moore, Reed, Sanders. I've been to Williamson County to do research or visit family - I love the area. I especially love to go visit the ol' folks resting at the old Cemetery in Herrin and the McAlpin Cemetery out in the field. I just love to visit 'grandpa' Hugh. 3. Robin, My great-great-grandfather was Frank Harris whose daughter Allie married Earl Turner. I was just at my late grandmother's house this weekend with my mother and uncles going through photos. I might be able to help identify your photo. I know we found a good photo of Allie and her sisters, as well as Allie and Earl and a couple of the kids. Sincerely, Jon Musgrave IllinoisHistory.com -----Original Message----- From: ilwillia-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:ilwillia-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Roberts Robin Sent: Thursday, September 21, 2006 7:36 AM To: ilwillia@rootsweb.com Subject: [ILWILLIA] Marion/Williamson Co. Linda, I noticed in the surnames you're connected to the names WHITE and TURNER. I have a child married into the WHITE family and a very dear friend who is a TURNER from the Dykersburg area. Mr. Turner has found a very old photo that is believed to be either a TURNER family or possibly a HARRIS family photo (the TURNER's and HARRIS' are connected) that we are trying to identify. Mr. Turner said his wife knew who the portrait subjects were but his wife passed away nearly six years ago and left no info on or with the portrait. So if you, or anyone reading this has a connection to both the TURNER and HARRIS families from the Dykersburg/Stonefort/Carrier Mills area and would be interested in seeing this photo, please let me know and I will get a shot of it and send an email to you w/the attachment. Mr. Turner would really like to know who the people in the portrait are. Thanks! Robin Robin's PhotoGraphics http://www.robinsphotographics.com

    3. I am glad for all the new information. Has anyone ever heard of a Jesse Dooms in the 1860s in Stonefort? Jesse had originally married a Rutha Davis in Caldwell, Calloway, Hickman Co area of Kentucky and they were living there in 1850. By 1860 he had remarried an Amanda Wharton in Williamson County who had three children already. His daughter Mendoza married a Wesley Gilley, who died in the civil war, then she married Archibald Lawless. His son was Enoch Marion Dooms who's family ended up in Oregon. He had two daughters that married into the Kennedy/Canady families in Williamson and Johnson counties. After 1860 I cannot find Jesse or Amanda. Does anyone have information on these families?
