    3. Hi Suzanne, My GGrandmother Susan Elizabeth Williams Neely b. 1862 was from the Sulpher Springs area. I haven't done too much research on this WILLIAMS line yet, and at this point I do not have a C.A.Williams listed with her siblings. It could possibly be a nephew or niece of hers? Did you mean that this photo was in a family album of yours? If so, are you connected to the WILLIAMS line? 1. Re: [ILWILLIA] church records---Johnson, Geo W
    2. Hi- Join the club!! I also had a ggfather that was supposed to be full blood Cherokee from the Johnson Co-Union,Williamson Co area. His name was George Washington Johnson and only have a marr rec, no census on him. He either died young or divorced, not sure which. He marr Margaret Mary Catherine Maze/Mays 1871 Aug 10 in Union co, a daughter, Margaret Lydia Johnson b 1872 Jul 27 Jackson Co and a son Robert Van Buren Johnson b 1876 Nov 18 in Stonefort, Williamson Co, IL. This is all I've been able to find on this guy. His wife Mary Catherine Maze Johnson remarried to James Wiley Henderson 1878 Jun 09 in Johnson Co, IL. I've not been able to narrow his age down, which doesn't help. He missed the census records (that I've found) There are 5 or 6 with the same name, but no idea if one is him or not.

    3. Sorry, I can't help you with the church records, but, I'm interested in your statement your relaative might have been Cherokee. My great grandmother was considered 'full blooded Cherokee', they told me her name was Mary Elizabeth Red Cloud, her marriage record was Mary Elizabeth McIntosh.... she married Peyton Carol Greer, 1864, Union Co., IL , but they lived in Johnson Co. ALL my relatives are sure she was Cherokee.... but we have no proof at all. Just keep this in mind.... 2. John The 1870 Union Co. IL census show Taylor, Jas K. P. age 25 with wife. E. Ann (age 23, b. TN) and two children: Ruth J (age 4, b. IL) and John L. (age 2, b. IL). Joseph Alonzo is not listed. ========================================================= Name Home in 1870 Estimated Birth Year Birthplace Race Gender (City, County, State) Jas K P Taylor Casper Precinct, Union, IL abt 1845 Illinois White Male ========================================================= The 1880 Censu Williamson Co shows the following. Wife is listed as Sarah J, (age 25, b. MO) with children Josephine (age 14), Elonzo, (age 12), Bertie (age 2) and Isaac J. (age 5/12) ========================================================== NameParent or spouse namesHome in 1880 (City,County,State)Birth YearBirthplaceRelation J. K. If these two listings are for the same individual then he was married twice. First wife being an E. Ann (______) and the second wife being Sarah J. There is somewhat of a problem with the childrens names. Is Josephine age 14 in 1880 the same individual as Ruth J age 4 in 1870? Similarly is Elonzo, age 12 in 1880 the same individual as John L, age 2 in 1870? It looks reasonable to me, but then I have no connections to these indiduals. The Sarah listed in the 1880 census is probably Sarah Morgan whom James married on June 15, 1876. This would explain why the younger children listed in the 1880 census are ten years younger than the first two. >From IL Marriage index: TAYLOR, JAMES K P MORGAN, SARAH 06/15/1876 D /140 WILLIAMSON

    2. Researching James K. Polk Taylor, born 1844 in Marion, IL to Billington Taylor and wife Sarah (Lemens). Jame K. had a son Joseph Alonso Taylor born 1867. I am trying to find out who the wife of James K. was who gave birth to Alonso. Some research suggests a Sarah Morgan, but one record reports the marriage in 1876, 9 years after Joseph';s birth. Joseph's death certifcate only has "D.K." as the mother. Any help would be appreciated. Also family lore has it that this "D.K" was Cherokee! John Chovan
