Have an interesting tidbit about Palos Park. Would like photo of house mentioned if possible. Tidbit from obit of Mrs. Jesse Mains, granddaughter of Melancthon A. Powell. "Melancthon A. Powell, pioneer citizen, settled and named Palos Park. It was first called Orange, then because he had relatives in Palos, Spain he chose to change the name from Orange to Palos. The "Park" was added later. It was in his home the first public school was held and also the first post office of which he was the first postmaster.
