Here is something I have in my notes since my ancestor Cornelius Covenhoven Van Horne was mentioned. I thought it might be of help or interest to someone. FROM: Missouri Pioneers, County & Genealogical Records, Vol IX Dec 1970. Compiled and published by Miss Nadine Hodges & Mrs. Howard W. Woodruff. Bates county, Missouri FRANCIS, THOMAS, of Will County, Illinois, will dated 28 Feb 1850. Wife, Hannah FRANCIS, and "all my children" (unnamed). Exrx., Hannah FRANCIS. Wit: Mary Ann BRENCERHOFF & Cornelius C. VANHORNE. Will Co., ILL. 16 Nov 1848. William GOWGER verifies the signature of Mary Ann BRENCERHOFF whose residence is not known, and Corneluis C. VAN HORN decd. Philander SIMMONS testifies that Mary Ann BRENCERHOFF resided in Will Co. for 25 years, but left for Calif. in the spring of 1857. Uri OSGOOD witnesses that about fall of 1856 Thomas FRANCIS left state of Illinois and went to Missouri. Cornelius C. VANHORN departed this life at Joliet in summer of 1854.
