    2. [email protected] Rodger, I don't know where you are, but this info may be helpful: [Warning: Dont call Mental Health Services in Will Co. for answers to MH Questions. That would be silly!] Joliet Jr. College Librarian, Barbara Wilson was very polite & helpful, even made a call for info. [815-729-9020] Phone No. Will Co. Hx Soc. [815-838-5080] Joliet Hxical Society, closed until 12-1-1999, phone 1-815-722-7003. Wilson determined that Joliet Public Library has an Obit & Genealogy section headed by a gentleman named Roger, [815-740-2666, after 12:30 PM]. Though section is not too well kept up, he is helpful. While he was checking his sources, Roger referred me to Dr. Robert Sterling, a prof at JJC, who was in when I called. He did not return my call yet, but will write when he does. Roger was not immediately aware of such an institution in Joliet, but reminded me that Kankakee did have a mental health unit, & a State Hospital existed in Manteno (both sites in Will Co.) until the recent past. I was advised 1. Re "Insane Asylum" in Joliet, 1925-1936: There were both a Will Co. Sanitarium & Sanitorium in Joliet in this time period. In 1929 the Sanitarium was changed to the Will Co. Tuberculosis Sanitorium for the aged & orphans as well as ill. he identified in 1917 a Co. Farm which took in paupers. 2. Possible burial info: All of these sights probably had their own pauper's field or cemetery. Hope the above helps.
