Hello, i'm trying to determine what happened to my relatives James Worrell Barr and wife Louisa Britt Barr. They were living in Joliet, IL, by c. 1950 and still there in 1963. A cousin thinks Louisa died in Arizona about 1968, but I can find no record of it. Are there Joliet city directories I could get anyone to check? Is there a cemetery where they would likely be buried? I have a death date (not sure of the source) for Louisa; the cousin said she died in Arizona, but the folks in Arizona could find no record of it. Perhaps since she had lived in Joliet for so long, there was an obituary there? Louisa Britt Barr, daughter of Joseph E. Britt SR (d. 1958) and first wife Zennie McGee Britt (d. 1912), was born in Georgia in 1906. I have record of her in Joliet from obituaries in 1954, 1958, and 1963, and from a deed in 1958/59. Her brother died childless, and her father's obituary mentions several grandkids (no names), so I presume she must have had children. I live in Georgia and so am quite a distance away. Can anyone suggest sources I could try or people I could contact? Most on-line records seem to be pre-1900, so I'm having a hard time finding these people (no luck with SSDI or switchboard).
