Hi, According to family history, my grandfather, (unknown) SIMMONS was killed in a hunting accident in 1868 or 1869. He was with a Mr. Wheeler and Mr. Storey. My grandmother( name unknown) died of a "broken heart" in 1870-'71. They left two sons, Richard,age 5 or 6 and John, my father, born Dec. 28, 1867, According to my father they were sent to live with a family named PULLMAN or PULLMEN. Richard died at age 12 of appendicitis; John, age 9, ran away and went to work in the mines. Can anybody help me. I'm not sure where to start. Is there a coroners office? Are there cemetery listings?
