Would there be any connection with a Ross Shiffer, who married Jessie Pickel on 31 July 1890 in Will Co., almost certainly Joliet? This couple was living in Long Beach, CA as of 1928. I am trying to find out more about the Pickel family--Jessie was born about 1873 in Will Co., the daughter of Charles H. Pickel and Matilda Munch (I kid you not), who lived in Joliet. I don't know anything about Ross, but would like to trace any descendants they may have had.
