    1. Re: [ILWILL] Lockport City Cemetery/Bruce Family
    2. I don't have information per se on the Bruce family, but my grandfather leased farm land from the Bruce family that was just south of Bruce Rd. and east of rt. 171. I have many happy memories of the times we spent there. I lived in the Fairmont area. My Aunt and Uncle lived there with my Grandfather. My Grandmother died there in 1942. My grandfather lived on the farm until 1960. The land was sold and the farmhouse was burned down. It was very sad for us to watch it go. My Dad's sisters and brothers would come every Sunday to the farm - we had pigs, chickens, several cows, and I think in the 40's there were some horses, too. There was always music, because my Dad played the guitar, my uncle played the concertina, and I have a cousin who played the accordian. There were 9 children. My Dad's family had a lot of respect for Mr. Bruce. To Dave: If you are interested in having a picture of the farmhouse, I could arrange to send one or e-mail it to you. mamz46@aol.com
