    3. For Dave, This is what I found in the Lockport Cemetery book: Section II, Row 21 6. BURDICK - Amos S. Burdick, Oct. 23, 1844-Mar. 26, 1893, Chicago Mercantile Battery A,/Josephine A., his wife, Feb. 15, 1847-Apr. 22, 1928. Section IV, Row 45 10. Thomas J. Reid, Oct. 16, 1840-Sept. 8, 1872/Minnie C. Reid, May 22, 1868-Sept. 3, 1869/Reid/Stanton A. Burdick, Dec. 23, 1797-April 8, 1881/Prudence A. Dean, wife of S.A. Burdick, Jan. 14, 1803-Mar. 23, 1889/Lyman J. Burdick, Mar. 10, 1828-April 11, 1843 Section IV, Row 61 BRUCE - Luella B., 1869-1949/Eben S., 1869-1943 This cemetery was once known as Lockport Protestant Cemetery. Originally it was the resting place for all denominations, as it was the only local cemetery. A short time later, South Lockport/St. Dennis Cemetery was established and Catholic burials took place there. Today there are no religious restrictions and "Protestant" has been dropped from the name. In 1898, Calvary Cemetery, another Catholic Cemetery, was established on the north side of Lockport. In a Will-Grundy Counties, Illinois Genealogical Society Quarterly publication, Spring, 2002, Volume XX, Number 3, there is an article from the Will Co. Commercial Advertiser, Feb. 14, 1884, titled Will County G.A.R. Post No. 401. This article tell about the organization of the Lockport Post. One of the officers elected and installed was Amos S. Burdick. Hope this information helps. Jacqueline Munch, LAGHS jlmunch@earthlink.ne
