I am looking for Charles Denny born 1823 in NY, married Susan (Kelsey) b 1826 PA in Will County 8/26/1847. In the Kelsey info I found reference that he may have died in Lockport, Ill. Would appreciate any info you can find on him. Marge
For Marge, I DO NOT have the transcription of Lockport Cemetery, sorry. Jacqueline Munch wrote an email today and mentioned that the Lockport Area Genealogical and Historical Society might have a copy of this in their collection. She gave her email address, perhaps you could contact her? I know there is one copy in the collection of the Will Grundy Genealogy Society at the Coal City Public Library(Grundy county)IL. I am very familiar with the DENNY family. They came with the HAVEN families from NY in 1835,first to Joliet then to New lenox and frankfort townships. The 1850 census of joliet shows Lysander DENNY machinist age 53 born NY with his family several families later DENNY Charles age 27 born NY machinist Susan age 23 born NY Charles M.,age 2 born IL Ellen age 2/12(born in census year)IL in the 1860 census, Lysander is in New Lenox township with his family and his brother Allen and his family is in Frankfort township. in the 1840 census Lysander is in Hickory Creek precinct(also his brother Allen) which later became Frankfort and New lenox townships. Quite a few of the Havens are buried in New Lenox Maplewood cemetery. As far as I know, there isn't a transcription of this cemetery. I have more info on the HAVEN and DENNY families but no more specifically on this Charles. If you would like the rest of the DENNY/HAVEN info please email me directly. Hope this helps, Kathy
