    2. Kathy, Thank you very much for the information. Yes, Rathke could be spelled Rathje or Raschke. On his naturalization papers it's spelled Rogda. He evidently had a very heavy german accent. So it could be spelled just about any old way, I guess. Rathke is the proper spelling as it exsists on his birth and passport records. I would very much like to have the info you mentioned (listings for the above spelling). The names I am looking for are: Johann Heinrich August RATHKE 1830-1888, Johann Christoph RATHKE b. 1788, Katherina Elisabeth HEUER b. approx 1790, Catherine DOERING 1852-1892 ( is the Catherine Rathke mentioned in the will county death index), Fred RATHKE 1876-1961, Mary RATHKE 1872-1955.
