Dear Joy, I'm not familiar with your particular Cope family, but I do descend from Oliver Cope of Chester and Lancaster Counties, PA. He came to PA in the 1680s. There is a man in FL who is updating Gilbert Cope's work and preparing a large book on the descendants of Oliver Cope. His name is Richard Boswell. I haven't heard from him in a couple of years, but I could give you his name, etc., if you're interested. I come from a Cope daughter whose descendants moved south to GA.
