    1. Re: [ILWILL-L] Re: Nancy Corbin
    2. Corbin was her maiden name. She was born in CT of an old New England line that runs all the way back to Richard Warren of the Mayflower. Nancy Corbin married Russel Rusco (of another old New England line). They reared their family in Frankfort, Herkimer County, NY. After Russel died, Nancy lived with her oldest son, David Roscoe. She moved with his family to Peotone, Illinois in the late 1860s. I have a family Bible record that shows that the last of David's children--including my grandfather, Charles Roscoe-- were born in Peotone. Thus, I know the family actually lived in Peotone for some time. I also have photos and letters which refer to Will Township, Crete, and Kankakee. At some point, around the 1880s, most of the family moved to DeWitt, Nebraska. However, I know that David's oldest daughter, Nancy (named for her grandmother) Fero Roscoe stayed in Peotone. She was married to John A. Baird. Please note as well that the family name went through many transitions: Rusco/Rosco/Roscoe, among others. However, I think by the time they got to Illinois, Nancy (Corbin) Rusco was Nancy Rosco(e) pretty regularly. Thanks to everyone for all the help on this. This list is a great one. Kathy
