Hi, I noticed your queries about St. John's Church. I was able to locate a possible location for church records of my g-grandparent's marriage. They were supposedly married in 1869 in an Evangelical Lutheran church in Chicago. I contacted the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America Archives and they were able to tell me what churches the records were moved to. As it turns the church now researching is at least the 4th church to possess the records from the original church. It is a UCC, not Evangelical Lutheran. So, perhaps the ELCA could help you.
