Carolyn, There is a James Hamilton buried in Brown Cemetery at Jackson's Grove near Elwood: "James Hamilton 1797 - 1884, Rebecca Freburn, wife of James Hamilton 1815 - 1902" The next headstone " William Hamilton 1856 - 1917, Mary 1864 1963" And a third headstone: "Ella R. Hamilton 1862 - 1898" The 1917 Old Settlers' Association Necrology Report for 1917 gives the date of June 26, 1917 for William's death. This info is posted on the USGenWeb Project's Will County site.
