I have an Edna Jackson married a Charles Silvio Valerio. Charles was the son of Ignazio Valeriano and Ida Fenoglio-Gaddo. Charles Silvio was my grandfather's brother. He was born in Torino, Reed Township, Will County (not there anymore) February 29, 1908 and died on January 25, 1992. I don't have any information about his wife Edna or her family. I believe they were married in the early 1940's. Let me know if there is a connection. Barry Jernigan, grandson of Leslie Paulino Valerio (b. 1918, Torino, Reed Twp, Will County)
In my posting regarding the Oldendorfs, I listed Anna Oldendorf Martin and Emma Oldendorf Harms. It's the other way around. Anna married Henry Harms and Emma married William Martin. Missy
Does anyone know if Vermont Cemetery at Wolfe's Crossing, has been indexed? Also was there a cemetery for the Immanuel's Church of the Evangelical Association, Wheatland Twp., which existed from 1860 to 1895? Looking for Holdeman/Holdiman, Wolf, Book, Baisch/Baish, Lantz. Thank you in advance. Cheryl C. Rigdon

The History of Will County book was published in 1878. The copy I used was at the Minn Hist Society in St. Paul, MN There probably are copies available in the Will-Grundy Counties Genealogical Society Library (which I have never been to). In addition to history, the book has biographies of leading citizens organized by city (Peotone, etc). There is name index that was prepared in the 1970's or so. I trust its data because the biographies are of people who were alive in 1878. Good luck. While it is a little way away, there are Oldendorfs in Dwight ILL. May not help, but I thought worth mentioning. A Robert Oldendorf still lives there and runs a resturant. Sorry I can't be sure of the spelling and an address as I have not lived in Dwight for abt 45 years. Wayne Reed [email protected]

Hi Carole, Might I suggest that you get a copy of the actual marriage license not just info from the illinois state marriage index? That is if you don't already have it. The actual marriage license might have the bride and groom's parents listed on it. I found the following will county death index 1877-1905 BAIRD Elizabeth age 27 yrs 3 mo 19 days died 1 feb 1884 in peotone buried peotone Jane age 8 mo 26 d- died 18 sep 1878 in braidwood buried braidwood Leroy Arthur age 2 mo 13 d- died 13 apr 1883 in peotone buried peotone(1/2 east) mary age 4 yr 11m 29 d -died 15 jan 1881 in peotone buried peotone(1/2 mile east) alexander age 55 y died 7 jul 1905 in braidwood buried braidwood J F(Dr.) age 36 y died 5 apr 1904 in joliet buried adamsville PA no sultzbaughs listed from privately published book author william r. conrad 1879-1966 transcribed by robert s. degenkolb 1996 title Necrology of peotone,will co.,illinois residents,relatives and friends BAIRD margaret a. age 69 yrs 7m 24 d-died 18 may 1922 harvey f. 27 jun 1900-10 mar 1919 john r. 3 apr 1850-17 jun 1909 nancy f. 3 mar 1855-14 mar 1913 schuyler D. 22 apr 11853-29 apr 1928 Ella S. 26 mar 1859-25 oct 1922 libbie rains 12 oct 1856 1 feb 1884 henry 27 sep 1851 19jun 1930 schuyler c. 13 apr 1876 16 jun 1930 glen h. 8 dec 1878 4 may 1932 mrs. bert 29 feb 1888 6 may 1933 albert h.(bert) 6 mar 1884 14 sep 1939 Mrs. Schuyler C. 13 apr 1876 27 may 1954 Mrs. Gladys 9 dec 1896 28 sep 1955 mrs. glen 4 oct 1880 10dec 1957 John W.(Kankakee cty)5 aug 1908 11 may 1962 wilbur 9 jul 1890 11 aug 1966 SULTZBAUGH alice 1 may 1864 11sep1936 phillip 9 jun 1831 14 jul 1891 susanna 2 jan 1858 30sep1863 susan may 2may1864 13feb 1869 this book does not list location of burials just the dates.
