I was interested when I saw the ROYCE name. I have a Calvin Webster ROYCE gggrandfather b.8-9-1871 d.3-7-1963 m.1935 Mary Isabelle LUND COPE He is to have been born inUpper State New York and rush land in the mid-west. He also was a Fireman or possibly Fire Chef in Joliet. Does the name have any ties to you?
Al: Yes, we communicated before and I am subscribed to the Quarterly. Would like very much to get information on the Braytons. Barbara
Hi, I am new to this mailing list and am looking for any information on the surname LEVERING in Joliet. I am especially interested in finding a birth certificate for Elizabeth LEVERING, April 28, 1885 and her daughter Bessie Beryl (LEVERING or REID) around August 17, 1905. Thank you for any help you can give. Sincerely, Jane Redmann
Check the illinois marriage index, illinois civil war data base both on the net and both links on the will county genweb site.
Kathy, Thank you very much for the information. Yes, Rathke could be spelled Rathje or Raschke. On his naturalization papers it's spelled Rogda. He evidently had a very heavy german accent. So it could be spelled just about any old way, I guess. Rathke is the proper spelling as it exsists on his birth and passport records. I would very much like to have the info you mentioned (listings for the above spelling). The names I am looking for are: Johann Heinrich August RATHKE 1830-1888, Johann Christoph RATHKE b. 1788, Katherina Elisabeth HEUER b. approx 1790, Catherine DOERING 1852-1892 ( is the Catherine Rathke mentioned in the will county death index), Fred RATHKE 1876-1961, Mary RATHKE 1872-1955. Thank you for your time, Daryl

Wayne, Go to Will Co WebPages (address below), click on "Biographies". If you're looking for Reed, click on "O thru R" beside "Biography Surnames:" and scroll down to the Reeds -- there are five of them listed in Homer-Twsp. Click on each of the words "Biography" and read what's there. Is anyone familiar with The Raliegh Reed Farm? It was about 51/2 miles south of Joliet on Route 7 in Troy Township. My grandfather Daniel MAHONEY had owned this farm for 20 years at the time of his death in 1931. He lived there with his daughter and son in law Bernard V. and Kathryn Murphy. If anyone is familiar with The Raliegh Reed Farm please let me know thanks, Melissa Will County names I am researching: MAHONEY,MURPHY QUINN, WOODS GRUNDY,EWING,MATTHEWS,BLODGETT,BACKSTROM,PARSONS,BRADLEY, SPENCER
Barbara: I am the Editor of the Royce Quarterly, and we have collected quite abit of information about the Royce family in Will County, as a matter of fact, my own Royce family passed through Will County, but Able died there in 1850, the same year he arrived, and his family moved on to Iowa. The Brayton name comes up connected to the Royce family, but it would take me awhile to find that connection. Al Rhods
