    1. Re: [ILWILL-L] Re: Nancy Corbin
    2. Corbin was her maiden name. She was born in CT of an old New England line that runs all the way back to Richard Warren of the Mayflower. Nancy Corbin married Russel Rusco (of another old New England line). They reared their family in Frankfort, Herkimer County, NY. After Russel died, Nancy lived with her oldest son, David Roscoe. She moved with his family to Peotone, Illinois in the late 1860s. I have a family Bible record that shows that the last of David's children--including my grandfather, Charles Roscoe-- were born in Peotone. Thus, I know the family actually lived in Peotone for some time. I also have photos and letters which refer to Will Township, Crete, and Kankakee. At some point, around the 1880s, most of the family moved to DeWitt, Nebraska. However, I know that David's oldest daughter, Nancy (named for her grandmother) Fero Roscoe stayed in Peotone. She was married to John A. Baird. Please note as well that the family name went through many transitions: Rusco/Rosco/Roscoe, among others. However, I think by the time they got to Illinois, Nancy (Corbin) Rusco was Nancy Rosco(e) pretty regularly. Thanks to everyone for all the help on this. This list is a great one. Kathy

    3. Hi Cherie, Didn't have to go to the library. Never heard of spring valley BUT Mt. Olivet cemetery in wilmington has Bamricks. I have the transcription of that cemetery published by WGGS(will grundy genealogy society). Old Catholic cem(Mt. olivet old section-there are 3 sections only oldest has been transcribed) Lot 93(ownership unknown) 1. Mary A., daughter of J & S. BAMRICK, died 8 sep 1874 aged 1 yr.,8 days. lot 94 right next door ownership unknown empty of markers could be a relative check wilmington public library obit index starts before the civil war and goes to current. 201 Kankakee Street wilmington,il 60481. It's about 5 blocks from my home. I take my granddaughter there at least twice a week. I will check and see if you want when I go next time-probably monday or tuesday. Illinois state marriage index shows BAMRICK,william married cook county 2 may 1895 Lizzie Cuykendall-problem with cook county marriages is that you very RARELY get parents names on licenses. Might find the church and the ages of the bride and groom but that's all. Yes I do paid research. Contact me directly. However I still do volunteer for the will county site-anything that I have in my home or is available at my local libraries WITHOUT having to make copies or takes more than a few minutes to locate. Her parents might be listed on the license or it's application. Also may show where she married like the church? That would help locate records. PORAZILOVA(did they shorten their surname?) Barbara married in cook county 19 aug 1889 James Kratochvil You can get a copy of the will county marriage from will county clerk's office 302 North Chicago St.,Joliet,Il 60432 cost is $9.00(outrageous I think but..) 3. Kathy, I read with interest the letter you sent to Ray giving him advise on locating his ancestors...The next time you are in the library, would you look up BAMRICK? We know that Edward BAMRICK, James BAMRICK and John BAMRICK lived in Braidwood and I know that James and family moved to Nebraska in1886. I think Edward died in Illinois and is buried at Mt Olivet cemetary in Spring Valley and John's wife Hannah maybe buried there also. Do not know what happened to John. Would appreciate a lookup and will also use the info you sent to Ray for further requests. Can you help me? I would be happy to pay for your time. 3. Bob Degenkolb still is at that address. Wm. Conrad had a store in Peotone for many years, went to school with my grandfather, etc. According to the foreword in his necrology he had collected lots of those names, etc. Those who didn't live in Peotone had roots in Peotone, went to school or church there, was married into a local family somehow. I bought a copy of the necrology from Bob last year and he still have a few copies left, about $10 including postage and that is his cost. I've been able to help many folks with this book. arlene

    3. Hi Kathy, there is NO death cert. for her I checked. Source of what William CONRAD(who died in 1966)was -his father John CONRAD who started recording these entries in 1892 who decided to keep a record of all Peotonians deaths. Records were kept in seperate books for each year, at John's death in 1919 there were 27 books.William got them and kept up the work until 1927 when they were destroyed by fire. He then made a survey of all Peotone area cemeteries and got some folks that his father hadn't gotten. He claimed in 1963 that he had included friends and relatives who never lived in Peotone. The original copy of the necrology is at the Peotone Public Library. It is a handwritten ledger in very fragile condition. Robert Degenkolb got permission from the library to photocopy it and providing copies to several genealogy libraries(WGGS collection has the one I looked at). Robert Degenkolb's address in 1996 was 116 Knollwood Lane Fairfield Glade,TN 38558 That's all I know. Kathy Zavada

    2. Kathy: Thanks for responding.Michael or Mathias Porazil born appox 1840 and Barbara Porazil born approx 1837 resided in Godley Illinois and died after 1910. Family rumor is that they are buried in the Bohemian National Cemetary near Braidwood Illinois, however cemetary records do not list the burials and there are not any markers. I do know that their son Mike and his wife Anna are buried in the cemetary and only Annas grave has a marker. Thanks for whatever you can find out. Ray

    2. Once other comment, I did write to the Will County Clerk's Office twice looking for Nancy Corbin death info--and sent them a check and a SASE. Each time they replied that no such record could be found. Would you happen to know the source(s) Conrad used? Is it possible to obtain a copy of the Degenkolb's transcription of these records? Thank you again for all your help. Kathy S. in Massachusetts

I haven't worked on this line in years so though I had a little info before, I've forgotten most of it and the rest was either in a huge binder or saved on those big floppies that were used in the early '90s.
