In 1870 in Fulton, the family was: Dorsey, Patrick 28 M Ir x x x Sawmill Ann 27 F Ir Frank 5 M IL Hellena 4 F IL Elizabeth 4 F IL (twins) Mary 2 F IL Cate 18 F MA Cate would appear to be a sister to Patrick. This could mean that she came over with Patrick, or perhaps that his parents emigrated also. There is another Dorsey family in Fulton where the records are a little confusing...may be worth keeping in mind! In 1860 this family appears Dorcy, John 40 M Ir Laborer Bridget 32 F Ir In 1870 in addition to Patrick above this family is in Fulton Dorsey, Martin 40 M Ir Daylaborer Bridget 40 F Ir Bridget 10 F Ir The possibilities are 1, these are two Different families or 2, they are the same and Martin and John are one person, or 3, Bridget is the same but she married a different Dorsey. I suspect the first, mainly because of the younger Bridget's birthplace. I have seen a lot of age variation in Irish families that are obviously the same family but people age 16 years in 10, or only a couple, or None! I suspect an Irish brogue and perhaps sense of humor are to blame! Bob
