Some time ago I posted this question but did not receive a response. I'm hoping somebody might be on the list now who has an answer. The Mississippi River Road through Whiteside Co is named WALLER ROAD, but that is the only section of that highway named as such. Who was that section of road named after? Was it a county person, or a ~famous~ state figure? Julie

Julie.. I lived in Rock Falls, Whiteside Co IL for 10 years, and will be going back for a visit this June. I have never heard of the Mississippi River Road or the Waller Road. Just what part of the county is is suppose to run through - what town or township? Find these things out for me and I'll try to find them when I go back.
