May 18, 1906 M.G. LOVE has traded his horse to Jake McCOMBS for two lots north east of Miss SCOTCHBROOK's tenant property. Mr. LOVE has purchased another fine horse of FROST the Prophetstown horse buyer. May 25, 1906 Mrs. Dave HOTCKISS of Prophetstown visited at the homes of Fred SEYMOUR, John McCOMBS and Jesse VanBIBBER Friday. December 19, 1918 FALLS 52 FEET FROM TOP OF WINDMILL Thos. RASSMUSSEN, Retired Farmer Falls To His Death From Wind Mill Tower. Thomas RASSMUSSEN, a retired farmer and well known citizen of Tampico died Sunday morning at the Colonial Hospital at Rochester, Minn., following a fall of fifty-two feet from the top of a windmill on which he was working with N.E. TONKINSON last week Thursday at Frank WEST's farm. He was taken to the hospital Friday evening. The remains were brought back to Tampico Monday evening and the funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the M.E. Church in charge of the pastor, H.C. BROWN. More of the story exists in the pages of the Tornado. Obituary. Thomas RASSMUSSEN was born in Denmark, March 30, 1851 and came to this country at the age of 23 and began work in Sterling. He was married to Leonie Christina Rassmussen, Oct. 19, 1875 and to this union twelve children were born, seven of whom still survive. They are: Dr. J.C. RASSMUSSEN of Wyanet, Mrs. Marie McCOMBS of Coleta, Mrs. Anna Christina FRITSCH of Manilus, Nels P. of Tampico, Mrs. Minnie CALANDER of Springfield, Carl of Tampico and Mrs. Emma ANDERSON of Tampico, five died in infancy.
