Hello to all the Whiteside County researcher - LOTS of new things on the IL Trails Whiteside County website this month - http://www.iltrails.org/whiteside/ Since I had a couple of weeks to spare, due to our website going through a "server changeover", I finally got around to transcribing the Sterling Township History and it had a ton of good information - many biographies and so many things of interest. This Sterling Information, Biographies and Township History is absolutely "EXCLUSIVE" to the IL Trails Whiteside County Website. You will not find it anywhere else on the Web!! This was 59 Pages of time consuming, hard work - taken from the Bent - Wilson History of Whiteside County Published in 1877. You saw it here first. I really have to thank my husband Lynn for his help on this 59 pages of data - he scanned all of it for me, put it on disc and then went to the corner pub to recover. (we live in a dry county - he had a long walk). During the time I was working on this Sterling History I contacted Gail Burton who provided me with over 50 Burials of the Galt - Wallace families who were so instrumental in the development of the city of Sterling. BIOGRAPHIES: 37 * NEW * Ones all Sterling related: And an updated Bio on Asa Scott - the 1st Settler in Montmorency Twp, brought to my attention by an old friend, Jean Portner who's son is a direct descendant of this old timer.
