Illinois Wills Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/Il/WhitesideWill/10015 Surname: Houseman, Lewis, Frost, Zerr ------------------------- Last Will and Testament of Edgar Houseman I, Edgar Houseman, of the County of Whiteside and State of Illinois, being of sound and disposing mind and memory, hereby revoking all former wills and codicils by me made, do make, publish and declare this to be my Last Will and Testament. FIRST: I direct that my Executor, hereinafter named, shall pay all my just debts and funeral expenses. SECOND: I give, devise and bequeath my farm, located in Section Fourteen, Township Twenty-one North, Range Five East of the Fourth Principal Meridian, Whiteside County, Illinois, to my wife, Nora Houseman, for and during the term of her natural life only. During the time she shall enjoy the life use of said farm, she shall pay the taxies levied thereon, keep the improvements reasonably insured and reasonably repaired. After the death of my wife, I direct that my Executor shall sell and convey said farm either at public or private sale, at such time or times, and upon such terms, as to him shall seem best; and I hereby grant to my said Executor full power and authority to make, execute, acknowledge, and deliver any and all deeds, and conveyances which may become necessary for this purpose, as fully and completely as I might do if living. The proceeds of said sale shall be distributed to my descendants in the same manner as I shall provide in the residuary clause, of this my Will. THIRD: I give and bequeath to my said wife my one-half interest in and to the farm chattels which may be upon said farm at the time of my decease, to be hers absolutely. FOURTH: I give, devise and bequeath my house and lot, in Clinton, Iowa, it being the East or Easterly Thirty feet of Lot Eight in Block Forty-four, in the South Addition to the City of Clinton, Clinton County, Iowa, to my son, Kenneth Houseman. This devise to my son, Kenneth, is made upon the express condition that he assumes and agrees to pay any mortgage that may be a lien upon the premises devised upon him. FIFTH: All of the rest, residue and remainder of my estate, whether real, personal or mixed, I give and bequeath as follows: One-fifth to my daughter, Leta Lewis One-fifth to my son, Floyd Houseman One-fifth to my son, Fred Houseman One-fifth to my son, Kenneth Houseman One-tenth to each of the children of my deceased son, Jesse Houseman; James and Janet. Should any of the residuary beneficiaries predecease me, leaving descendants him or her surviving, the share of the one so dying is hereby devised and bequeathed to such descendants per stirpes; and should my daughter or any of my sons predecease me leaving no descendants them surviving, the share of the one or ones so dying is hereby devised and bequeathed to the other residuary beneficiaries in like proportion; and should either of my said grandchildren, James or Janet, predecease me, leaving no descendants him or her surviving, then the share of the one so dying is hereby devised and bequeathed to the other, or to his or her descendants, per stirpes. SIXTH: I hereby nominate, constitute and appoint my son, Fred Houseman, Executor of this my Last Will and Testament, and I request that he be excused from giving security on his official bond.
