Feb 27, 1865 - 61 yrs. Shaw, Mahala, w. of H. d. Aug 12, 1872 followed by about a dozen of their children, etc. Checking the 1860 census, I find: Shaw, Hiram 59 M MA Farmer Mahala 49 F VT Lucy C. 17 F OH Isabel I. 12 F OH Lyman P. 33 M Canada Adeline W. 32 F VT Burton A. 3 M IL Adelbert 1 M IL Lyman was Hiram's son, and Adeline Lyman's wife, for Burton and Adelbert were grandchildren to Hiram. This supports more closely YOUR date of 1800! I don't know where the age came from, the Cemetery book does NOT indicate a full age on the stone...those old stones can be hard to read, it may be that someone read the 6 as an 8, while the person who read it for the Genealogists read a 4 as a 1 and got 61. I think I would stay with the 1800 date! Bob
