I'm looking for additional information on Franklin Pierce GOEHRING and Susie A. CARLEY, married in Whiteside County in 1880. The Whiteside Sentinel (courtesy D. Everling) shows: Goehring--Carley married 25 February 1880 by Rev. H.S. Jordan. Both were from Prophetstown at Morrison. The 1880 census, Prophetstown (courtesy Everling) shows: Carley, William--Male--50--Married--Farmer--NY NY NY Phoebe A.--F--43--Married--Wife--NY NY NY Lyman B.--M--17--Single--Son--IL NY NY Jennie--F--15--S--Daughter--IL NY NY Blanch--F--S--Daughter--IL NY NY John--M--8--S--Son--IL NY NY Noble--M--6--S--Son--IL NY NY Pearl--F--3--S--Daughter--IL NY NY William--M--20--M--Son--Farmer--IL NY NY Nettie--F--16--F--Wife--IL NY NY I'm not sure if this was Susie CARLEY's family. Either Frank or Susie had an uncle who was in the Civil War. The 1880 Census also shows a Benjamin CARLEY, who was either a brother to Phoebe or Nettie. Anybody know? I'm also wondering how long Frank and Susie remained in the Whiteside County area. I do know that by the late 1880s/early 1900s they had moved on to Nebraska and Iowa. By the 1920s, I believe they had returned to Minnesota. Any information will be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
