    3. Amy .. Do any of those dates coincide with the tombstone dates. It was not uncommon for a person to die in Cook Co and be buried in Whiteside. Not knowing the date may prove difficult but you do have the year. I've had good luck just "calling" the Whiteside county office (this would be Morrison the county seat). I had a friend who found a baby grave at the foot of her grandfathers grave - nobody knew who it was, just had the year on it. We still don't know who it was but the girl at Morrison looked through the whole year for a baby death with that surname while I waited on the phone. They are all on the computer now so its not so hard for them anymore. The County has no record of that babys death so I guess the poor thing was probably still born - and they just buried it with grandpa! Anyway - its worth a try to call, they are nice people in Morrison and if they have the time, they'll probably look.
