July 30, 1822 - Feb. 23, 1887---age 64y,6m,23d...... from the book: "About Sept. 1, 1876 a new board of trustees was selected by the people of the community to erect a new Church Building"....."Three years prior to this, Robert Anderson and wife had deeded two and one half acres of ground in the southwest corner of Section Twelve, being across the corner from the church, for cemetery purposes. The following Trustees elected for the new church were also made the trustees of the cemetery viz; Archibald Maxwell, David Anderson, Nelson Kidder, John Jacob, Henry Hay, Ruben Warner and Isaac Burger." (Isaac Burger is my gggg-grandfather)..."The deed to the cemetery lot was given to the trustees of The Methodist Episcopal Church on April 2, 1869, and by them deeded to the new board of the Union Church on Sept. 23, 1876." As you can see, the date April 2, 1869 and the section about "three years prior" do not match up, but still a very interesting piece of history. Also, one of the acknowledgements in the book is: notes kept by Agnes L. Anderson on her family and friends. The Whiteside County Genealogists may be able to give you more info than I have available from the Cemetery Records.
