Hess, twin brother of Zachariah Hess. Jeremiah moved to Whiteside county in 1868 with his parents and siblings.He married Lydia Millhouse in Penrose in July of 1873. Lydia died in 1881. Their daughters were Ida, married a Danson, Margaret married (1) Albert A. Hobbs (2) Jens Peterson, and Elizabeth married Harrison Reynold John.
