V. Lapham, fell into boiler of scalding water last Tuesday; parents sick with smallpox at the time. 24 Oct 1872 Whiteside Sentinel Lapham, Harriet J.; 45 yrs; d. 23 Oct 1872, Union Grove; wife of E. V. Lapham. E. V. Lapham apparently remarried (did not find the marriage in the Illinois marriage index. In Sweger's book on Marriages in Whiteside is: Lapham-Putnam; 4 Nov 1875 Whiteside Sentinel, married 22 Oct 1875 by Justice Yallee, E. V. Lapham, Union Grove and S. E. Putnam, Milwaukee, WI. Yallee is NOT a name that I have seen before, perhaps they married in Wis. In 1880 in Morrison was: Lapham, Edward M 54 M Farmer VT VT VT Sybyll F 36 M Wife WI VT VT Charles M 22 S Son IL VT VT Carrie F 16 S Dau IL VT VT Nellie F 13 S Dau IL VT VT Harriet F 3 S Dau IL VT VT Pauline F 1 S Dau IL VT VT Staples, Edwin M 59 M Visitor Auctioneer VT VT VT Margaret F 48 M Visitor VT VT VT The Birthplace information for the last two should prob. be IL VT WI as they appear to be by Sybyll. It would thus appear that Sybyll was the Mrs. Lapham who died in the incident and in Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison is: Lapham, Sibyll E. d.
