Hello Everyone, I am looking for a marriage record for Elizabeth Foster Marshall in Whiteside County. Elizabeth settled in Whiteside Co sometime after 1844 with her three sons, John, Thomas & Frank. They came from England some time after 1844 when Frank was born. According to Thomas' obit she came alone with the boys, her husband John Sr. must have died prior to their arrival. I can not find her on any of the census records as Elizabeth Marshall, which leads me to believe she must have remarried. Nor do I find her boys listed as Marshalls until I find John Jr. in 1860, but the other boys, Thomas and Frank, are nowhere to be found until 1870 when both have married local girls. All three boys served in the War in Illinois regiments. My guess is that she remarried and the boys were listed under their step-father's name.
