The name is quite rare and what I have to go on is a certain Jesse Ohmert who fought in the 34th Illinois Infantry, Company B during the Civil War. The regimental record says he was recruited from Mt. Pleasant. He served from October of 1864 to May of 1865. Thank You to anyone who can be of assistance.
