Illinois Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Il/Whiteside/10883 Surname: Elgin, Stutzke ------------------------- I did not check the census personally, but did get the following information from another researcher regarding the 1900 census of Whiteside County: ******** 1900 Elgin, William age 24 born IL, father GR, mother GR, Buttermaker in Hopkins wife Lizzie age 20 born GR, father GR, mother GR and son Edwin age 1 born IL with mother in-law Minnie Stutzky age 64 Widow born GR, father GR, mother GR, also residing with them was Fritz, Gustaf age 27 single, boarder, Buttermaker born GR, father GR, mother GR. ********* So presumably the census taker did record a notation indicating that Minnie Stuzky (?Stutzke) was the mother in-law of William Elgin. Can you take another look at the actual entry and notations? Thanks.
