    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: LINDSEY, LISK Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/Zh.2ADE/1930 Message Board Post: I would like to find out more about Sandytown Cemetery and Sandytown. I found this on-line, and, also, that the cemetery is designated as native prairie: CEMETERIES OF WHITESIDE COUNTY, ILLINOIS by Arlene Onken, originally published in the Whiteside Genealogist Sandytown Cemetery, Portland Twp., Section 14, Spring Hill Road. Is there a tombstone listing for this cemetery? My grandfather Douglas Lindsey was born in Erie (1872) and a younger brother was born in Sandytown. Also, a cousin of their’s, Joseph Lisk was married to Josephine Harty in Whiteside County (1872), and one of their children was born in Prophetstown. The Lisks and Lindseys ended up together in Benton Co., Iowa. This is about all that I know about these two families in Whiteside Co., but would like to learn more. I thought that Sandytown would be a good place to start, but if any of this info is familiar, I would appreciate hearing from you. Thank you for your assistance... Merton Franklin
