There was another Siefken family west of Morrison in Union Grove Twp. Siefken, Garret M 31 M Farmlaborer GR GR GR Emma F 30 M Wife PA NC PA John M 6 S Son IL GR PA Irvin M 4 S Son IL GR PA Earl M 4 S Son IL GR PA Clarence M 3 S Son IL GR PA It is possible that Garret was a son of John, and that Edwin was his oldest boy, who was temporarily with the grandparents in town. However, in 1880 there also was a Nicholas Siefken who was the same age as John, so Garret could be his son also. Garret did NOT appear on the 1880 census with either John or Nicholas. I remember Siefkens around Morrison when I was in School in the 1940's and 50's, esp. the name Clarence Siefken. Bob
