    3. Hello Listers, I'm thinking of giving up the Whiteside County IL Gen Website. http://www.rootsweb.com/~ilwhites/ I have been doing it for about one year. I also help with the Lee County IL GenWeb Site. I have found Whiteside County very difficult to put together an informative page. There is a lot of research material availible in Whiteside County but I don't have the time to transcribe all of it for the site. Also most of the organiztions in Whiteside County do not wish to post indexes or information online. I have been very careful not to get these groups mad at me for posting their info. If anyone wishes to take over the site and has the web skills contact me and we can contact the proper folks on the state level. Thank You, Dana Fellows Dixon IL

    3. Dana, you have done a good job. We'll miss you if you resign. No one else has been able to put together a good web page for Whiteside County. The county government doesn't cooperate with IRAD, even. We'd appreciate it if you would just resign yourself to the circumstances and continue as coordinator unless someone else really wants the job. 3. Dave and all listers.. I have a Whiteside County Website on IL Trails.. http://www.iltrails.org/whiteside/ There is an abundance of information on my website and its growing by leaps and bounds. No website can be successful unless you work at it - and my IL Trails Whiteside site is updated every 3 weeks with a ton of information each time. I feature everything in the world on the site - Birth, Deaths, Bios, Newspapers, Obits, Marriages, Cemetery Listing, the whole nine yards. Its true what Dana says. The Genealogical and Historical Societies in all counties, do not want any information put online - anywhere. They cannot sell their books and services if websites like mine are on here giving it away free. Well Gen Web promised Free and for the most part tried to keep that promise. IL Trails promises "Free" and we actually mean it. If any of you would like to see your family line and information on this site just let me know. My site welcomes contributions of any kind, everyone gets credit and this is what makes it so successful. Everyone on this list are all welcome to join the fun - and we would certainly welcome your input. I also do Carroll County and Lee County -- check them all out. I am dedicated to "Free" Genealogy and will do everything possible to make it happen.. Hope to hear from you all soon.
