He was born in Orleans County, Vermont in 1810. I think that he followed John M. Scott who came to Lyndon from Orleans County, Vermont in the late 1830's. He also had a brother named Samuel Garvin Scott who was a Methodist minister in Lyndon. Calvin Scott was married to Mary Elizabeth Putnam. She died in about 1867. They had six children, George C., Edward Everett, William P., Sarah Leonora, Mary Elizabeth, and Caroline. Any information on this family would be appreciated very much.

Grace was born on 27 December, 1884. And quite sure it was here in Illinois. Grace was their first, and the next were born in Nebraska." I suspect that Lloyd Brittell was married more than once, but my records for the Russell family are fragmented. I appreciate any information that I get. My grandfather was a Russell, but he passed on no family history.

Olive's maiden name is Waterman, as her mother was living with them at the time. I have found two SSDI entries for Everett (d. Jan 1968 in Rock Falls) and John (d. Jul 1986 in Rock Falls), but need more definitive death dates and where they are buried and an obit that might list next-of-kin. I am compiling a history of the HURDLE family in the US and trying to make sure all branches are included and notified of the project. Thanks in advance!

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/Zh.2ADE/1887 Message Board Post: Bob, I am researching my great grandfather's family. His name is Nelson B. Jacobs, son of William and Mary E (Larking) Jacobs. Siblings- Thankful, Henry, John, William and Mary. I show them in the 1850 census of Peoria Co, IL. But in 1860, I show Mary as being md. to Nelson Madison and coming to Iowa. I just received a ruby red goblet- dated 1899 with Mary E. Nelson's name on it from my mother. So I am assuming this was to celebrate their 40th anniversary. As far as I know, they only brought Nelson, of the Jacobs family with them here. Do you have any info on this family? Thank you Lori (Godlove)Frazier
