Nancy, I have been looking for info on Charles W. Puddifoot who married Sadie A. Guffin in Whiteside Co Jan 16, l890 for quite some time. I am doing a history on the Andrew Guffin family and all Guffins are my ancestors. However, am unable to connect Sadie to my family. Did find Chas and Sadie living with his parents on a fed census. Do you have any info on either one of these? Thanking you, Sandra R. Hi Cousin! This is what we have on the KIER / BAKER union: Triphena's 2nd marriage was to my gggreat grandfather, Duncan KIER on 12 Dec. 1857 in Unionville, Whiteside Co, Illinois. This was a 2nd marriage for Duncan also. (My line runs through Duncan and his first wife.) Duncan was born 13 September 1804 in Muthill, Scotland. He died 15 August 1871 in Union Grove, Whiteside Co, Illinois. Harvey P. BAKER married Duncan's niece, Isabelle KIER. Isabelle was born in 1841, Massena, St. Lawrence Co, New York and died 7 Feb. 1914 in Morrison, Whiteside CO, Illinois. Harvey and Isabelle had three daughters: Maria Triphena b. 1869, Clara A. b. 1872, and Myrtle B, b. 1874. Most of the information I have involves the KIER line. I do have copies of Duncan and Triphena's marriage license and an 1860 Whiteside Co. census showing Duncan, Triphena, children from Duncan's 1st marriage and Harvey P. Would be happy to send these to you and share any info you'd find interesting. You have filled in some BAKER info for us as well. Do you happen to have anything else on Isabelle? Debbie KIER Gentry
Hi Cathy, I have a Gifford BOOTH, born appx. 1870, who married Olive KIER, in 1892 - Whiteside Co. They had a daughter named Helen. Are you connected to any of these individuals? Looking forward to hearing from you. Debbie
I, too, have links with the Bakers and Kiers. My info which is partially supported by pages from an old Baker family bible indicates: Henry Miller Baker married Triphena Wilson Tripp on 9/23/1830 in Schroon, Essex, NY. Their children were Merritt B. Baker, b: 11/2/1831, Reuben S. Baker, b: 10/23/1833, Resolved Melville Baker, b: 9/23/1835, Jason L. Baker, b: 7/11/1837, and Harvey P. Baker, b: 2/18/1840. All were born in Schroon, NY. My information shows that Harvey married Isabella Kier on 11/6/1866. My questions are these: Both Henry and his son, Merritt died within two days of each other in June, 1854. Do you have any information as to the cause of death? My info (not supported by the Family Bible is that Triphena married Duncan Kier. Do you have information on Duncan Kier and the details on the marriage? I show his date of death to be August 15, 1871 but that is all I have on him. I haven't pursued this as my line continues through Tryphena's and Henry's son, Resolved, but I would certainly like to fill in this missing info. and I will be happy to provide any info. that I might have on this family. Jim Wilson
Hi Debbie, I think I missed the previous post before this message. You probably know that the Maria was (most likely) the Maria Triphena BAKER who was my great grandfather HARMON BURR (Jr.)'s second wife. I think you mentioned this to me earlier. But I'm still answering you. Just so you know I'm paying attention! No more yet on the other stuff! Hi, I also have BAKER's from Whiteside Co. that married into my KIER / KEIR family. What I have is: Henry and Triphena BAKER's son Harvey (born Feb. 1840 in New York, died 1895 in Whiteside Co., Illinois) married Isabelle KIER in 1866. In 1870 I show them in the Benton Co., IA census. Their children were Maria (born 1869 in Benton Co, Iowa), Clara, and Myrtle. Do any of these folks fit with your family tree? Looking forward to hearing from you. Debbie

Dwyer (or possibly C. O.) BOOTH married Clara Eliza CARR in Whiteside County, Feb. 20, 1877. Among their children were Basha, Grace Ann, Lotto, James and Charles BOOTH. Do you have the names of Elisha's and Clifford BOOTH's siblings or other relatives who were living in Whiteside County, IL around 1877. If Dwyer or C.O. BOOTH are included, can you furnish the names and dates of their parents?
