I searched Ancestry, IL data base, and even the Whiteside County Portrait & Biography of 1885. I did come across an Edwin Secor in Civil War Pensions. Of course YOUR Edwin would have been too young, but I thought he may have been listed as a minor. It was interesting though, because there was a name change! Is that a possibility for your SECORs? After looking at the census image, I really question if the "James Waller" is really a Waller or should they have transcribed "Miller". Sure looks like Miller to me !! Oh, well, I tried ! Cynthia, Thank you for the possible namesake ideas of the Waller Road, Route 84. I will try to look into them, Henry, Frank and James Waller, to see if any of them were famous enough to have a state wide road named for them. We had assumed that somebody there in Whiteside Co was the namesake for the road, but it is for the full length, north to south of the county. As soon as it hits another county, the road is no longer Waller Road. I also wondered about the possibility of a famous Illinois state person the road was named after. My Waller friends lived in Rock Island Co, around Moline, and this has been a curiosity to them for years. Julie
