Two of my ancestors, William and Michael Eldred, were enumerated in the 37th District in Whiteside Co. in 1850. Where is the 37th District? SABIN, aged 69 years old and two days. Mrs. SABIN was born in Medina Co., Ohio on July 12th, 1817. She was married to J.W. SABIN May 6th, 1832. They came to Illinois in June 1834. There were born to them two children, a son and a daughter. The son married and moved to Kansas, the daughter is the wife of Mr. RICHARDS at whose home Mrs. SABIN died. In June 1876 Mr. SABIN died, since which time Mrs. SAIBN's health had been poor but her extreme sufferings were reserved for the last few weeks of her life. She was afflicted with a cancer, inwardly, which was the cause of her death. Patiently and without a murmur, she suffered much, until death came to her relief. She was a member of the United Brethren church for over forty years. Her quiet and gentle spirit, her amiable disposition, her tender regard for others together with her consistent deportment won for her the admiration and esteem of all who knew her. The funeral took place at Leon church July 15th, services were conducted by Rev. F. STRINGER. The funeral was very largely attended.

Please read my post of 6 Dec 2000 regarding SPRINGSTEAD. Albina SPRINGSTEAD, b 22 Feb 1862 in Tampico had a sister (name currently unknown) who married ____ BAILEY. Albina was the 3rd of 9 children. I believe I may have found 3 other siblings of Albina in the 1870 census between Whiteside and Bureau Counties: Fred, Frank and Richard. I have not found a sister yet, so I do not know what her name might have been. In 1878 Albina came to Iowa (Red Oak, Montgomery County, IA) with her grandparents. This information came from her obit, which she wrote herself. At that time, she might have also been traveling with that sister, as I "believe" the BAILEY family might have lived in or near Red Oak, Iowa. I have no idea if ___ BAILEY was born in Illinois or Iowa. If you think there is any possibility that one of the members of your BAILEY family might have been the unknown BAILEY male that married the unknown SPRINGSTEAD female, please let me know. I went to the library and found the Illinois death index starting in 1914,he was on there,John NIVIUS died July 03,1933 in Rock Falls,Whiteside County.This is the first information I have found in years,the last place I found them is on the 1900 census for Colorado.
