Hi - 1840 Marriage records won't show much other than the bride & groom, unless they were underage, then there might be a permission slip. The 1893 records list the parents. The Mary Smith Fay Genealogy Library has microfilm of the August 11, 1855-Nov. 24, 1858 Grayville Independent Newspaper; I doubt that previous issues were microfilmed, if there were any, but am not familiar with what the Grayville library has. The best place to look for land records would be the courthouse, though there is a book at the MSF library. They also have books of obituary extractions from Carmi Newspapers from 1816 onward. By the way, I gave you the wrong address for the library - it's 203 N. SESLEY is probably suppose to be LESLEY, I think. > You ladies are both doing a great job!
