I am looking for the resting place for James David Counsil/Council died 1911. There is a connection to Enfield. My husband remembers the Council men always talking about Enfield. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Wanda
Hi Wanda, My mother's cousin currently lives in Enfield. It is a very nice town. There isn't a lot there anymore but the people are wonderful. I have many fond memories of Enfield. My mother's uncle ran a feed store in Enfield that was located next to the bank. The L&N train runs through Enfield (at least it was the L & N at one time, I don't know if it still is or not). At o The annual Mule Day celebration in Enfield is always a lot of fun. There is a parade, rides, entertainment, a street dance, and other activities as well. I think there is a website about Mule Day that was created by Cindy Birk Conley. Carol Janes --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Mail Plus - Powerful. Affordable. Sign up now
Wanda, I have lots of info about Enfield at http://home.midwest.net/~cbconly/enfield.htm and the three sections of the 1953 Enfield history that link to it. Didn't see any Counsil's, etc. listed in the cemetery book for Enfield or St. Patricks cemetery but the readers did a particularly poor job of recording that one.
