Re Alexander E. BRUCE: I do not have any information about this Alexander BRUCE in my files, but I do suspect that he is a branch of the Bruce family from which I descend. I have no information about anyone named Wilkerson in my files in connection with the BRUCE line. I am more inclined to think this Alexander may be from the PHIPPS branch of the family, but as I said, I don't know for sure. There were a lot of Bruces and my own line comes from my gggm Milly BRUCE (b. 1788) who married Dread DUGGER in Tennessee and then moved to Omaha, IL in around 1832. Milly had several brothers, Walker, Littleton, Jefferson, Madison and Benjamin BRUCE, and several sisters as well. Milly's father was William BRUCE (wife named Mary) and William's brother Benjamin and married Mary Crysel then came out from VA ending up in White Co IL. Benjamin's line is the main White Co IL line which gets into the TROUSDALE and PHIPPS lines in White Co. Always seeking more data on them! Carol Dugger

Was there a Poole connection? I notice Alexander's father middle name was Pool. There were a lot of them in Norris City.
