I don't know. I only have one Mary Skiles and that was my great aunt and Downs was not her married name. I am sure I have a lot of missing Skiles connections. My direct line is: George Hill Skiles b. 1809 (prob. Ky) m. 1826 to Catharine Unknown. George died c.1860/70 and Catharine 1870/80 in White Co. Children were Alex; James; Isaac James (my line); John W. and Sarah Skiles. James m. Harriet Watkins; Children Cyrus and Eliza Isaac James m. Sarah Jane Smith 1867 and had Joseph Ottis (my g-grandfather) who m. Flora C. Wilson. They also had Cora E. (Herman Klein); Ada C.; Millard C. and Edith (Victor Mitchell. Sarah Skiles m. Peter Hoffner. This is just a sample of the Skiles line. Interestingly though, Isaac's wife Sarah Jane Smith has a Skiles connection too, but can't seem to match the two families. Janean, My Mary Skiles was borned in 1852. Married Wiley in 1877. Wiley married again two months later?? Just thought you might have a Mary E Skiles. There is another Skiles family that I have not yet been able to connect to mine. They come from Kenneth Adair Skiles b. 16 Nov. 1912. He may still be alive - he would be 90 and as of a writing in 1999 was in good health. He m. Marjorie Dell Harmon daughter of Joseph Henry Harmon and Adele Smith. Adele was the daughter of John Perry Smith and Martha Anna Finney. John Perry Smith was the son of Joseph B. Smith and Mary Polly Harris whose daughter Sarah Jane Smith married my gg-grandfather Isaac Skiles. I have talked to people researching the Smith Skiles line and no one can seem to connect Kenneth Adair Skiles to my Isaac Skiles.
